So, there’s one thing that I’ve learned from creating this blog: the internet is slap full of boss babes. From my Instagram hashtag tribe, I have met tons of women that are killing it every single day online and with their businesses. I was talking to one of them about how to be insanely successful and that’s when it hit me! The Law of Attraction for beginners is exactly where we should start!

The Law of Attraction
We’ll start with the Law of Attraction for beginners because The Law of Attraction is a very deep, complex concept. We’re just grazing the surface today.
It is basically summed up by ‘If you can see it in your mind, you can attract it to your life.‘ The relationships, the money, the dream job, the home, the friendships, the circumstances… they can all be exactly how you want them to be.
This sounds impossible because so many of us are just on autopilot. Drive to work, drive home, go to the grocery store, make dinner, pay bills, answer emails, check social media, go to bed, wake up….
We get stuck in a rut. You basically see your future as a continuation of yesterday. You feel like you’re on a giant hamster wheel. Living because you’re alive but not truly living because you love your life.
We’re basically trained to believe that life is hard and it’s impossible to get ahead.
But it’s not true.
The Law of Attraction says that your future can be whatever you want it to be as long as you are willing to intentionally create your own destiny. Every aspect of your life is yours to decide. You just need to change your thought process.
Law of Attraction Controversy
Before I get further into this, I want to note that the Law of Attraction has been controversial in many religious circles. I totally understand how people can read it on the surface and be upset by it.
Just know that none of this is meant to upset anyone. If you are strong in your belief that God has a concrete plan for you and you can’t affect it…. this might not be the blog post for you.
I know that some people see it as you giving your fate to the Universe rather than God, but that’s not the case. It’s learning to change the way your energy goes out into the world. Energy and God are both scientifically explained in similar ways: can never be created or destroyed, always was and always has been, always moving in and out of form, everywhere at all times.
I personally feel that the Law of Attraction can be practiced with any religion because it’s basically feeling deep gratitude and abundant hope. It’s not believing in some magic genie in the sky that gives you money. It’s changing your thought process to be grateful and welcoming to any new circumstances into your life.
The Law Of Attraction For Beginners
I wont be able to cover everything in this blog post, but step 1 is: stop thinking negative shit.
Well, that’s not really all, but it’s what you need to do first.
Do you ever wake up ‘on the wrong side of the bed‘? Literally everything goes wrong. You stub your toe getting out of bed, get toothpaste on your shirt, can’t find anything to wear, spill your coffee in the car, get stuck in traffic…. and then find yourself saying ‘Could today get any worse?!?!“…. and then it does?
Well, I’m about to dish out some real tea- it’s your own fault. You create your own destiny whether or not you are aware of it. Your life today is a result of your thoughts yesterday (or the day before).
This hit me hard when I first found the ‘The Secret’ by Rhonda Byrne. I was at a miserable place in life. I was in high school, I was depressed and I always felt alone. After watching the movie, I was like ‘well, shit. This is all my own fault’. But then, I cheered up when I realized that it also meant that I could change my future.
It’s no secret that your attitude affects your life in every way. It decides if you have a good day or bad day. Your attitude decides if you make or keep friends. Having a bad attitude can be detrimental to all of your relationships and circumstances. Grumpy, mean, complain-ey people rarely have happy, abundant lives.
You do not have to monitor every single thought you have. We have millions of thoughts. We’re humans, so weird stuff will pop up in your head and you have zero control over it. That’s okay. This is more about your thought intentions than your every single thought.
It’s changing from:
‘I hope there’s no traffic because I don’t want to be late to work.’
‘I’ll make it work on time safely and enjoy the drive’.
It applies to everything. ‘I hate being in debt, my boss is a jerk, I hate how my husband talks to me, I’m not happy with my body, I hate my boss, I don’t like any of the clothes I own….’
See all that negativity? You are taking all of your time and energy focusing on what you don’t want…. but the Universe doesn’t know that. You’re just using 110% of your energy focusing on these things. Since like attracts like, you’re only going to have more of what you’re focusing on.
We all know a person that is just flat out miserable.
You can’t talk to them without them complaining about everything. So-and-so wronged them in some way, they’re behind on bills, they are always unhappy with their family or significant other. What usually ends up happening to that person? They get more of what they’re focusing on– misery.
Energy flows where attention goes.The Secret
In ‘The Secret’, they say if you’re anti-war, be pro-peace. Focus on what is good. It deserves your thoughts- not the negative. Shifting your thinking to use this concept will not only help you be more positive, but also just happier in general. Dwelling on something bad will most obviously make you sad, depressed and hopeless.
Fill Yourself With Gratitude
This is the most important part of using the Law of Attraction in your favor. It’s also the easiest and healthiest thing to do. It’s recharging and healing to feel deeply grateful for what you have. I get myself lost in gratitude sometimes and it’s so refreshing.
Every morning when I get up and every night when I lay down in bed, I run through my list of things I’m grateful for. My health, things Hunter said and did, Hunter himself, my animals, my home, the soft socks on my feet, the honey in my tea, my talents, my weaknesses, my past….
There is always something to be grateful for. Even if you’re in a particularly rough spot, you can still give thanks that you’re alive. You can be grateful that you have your eyesight. You can be thankful that you know tomorrow can be better by reading about the Law of Attraction for beginners and startingto use it to change your life.
At my lunch break every day, I doodle and write in my gratitude journal. There’s just something about writing something down that makes it so final and decisive. If anything, it is 10 minutes of my day where I do nothing but bask in the glory of my current life as it is.
As with anything in the Law of Attraction, this is just something that you should do. You should absolutely take inventory of the things in your world that make you feel blessed. It’s a clarifying action– if something didn’t make your gratitude list, it may not be all that important to you.
Plan Your Perfect Future
You’re going to feel incredibly silly doing this. I know because I did when I did it, but just embrace the silly and just playing along for a second. Treat the Universe as a giant catalog and make your order.
Describe what your business looks like as a total success. List out the traits that the perfect husband or wife would have. Describe the car you want and where you want to live. Write down what clothes you want and what trips you want to go on. Thoroughly describe every single thing, person, and experience you want in your world.
I used to just jot my ‘orders’ down on a yellow legal pad. I could fill those up so fast! Of course, I love office supplies and journaling stuff, so I got this stinking adorable journal. I feel like organizing my thoughts is so much easier and I could visualize my ‘wants’ better.
Make a vision board as a visual reminder of what you want to attract to yourself. I think its a great idea to have a visual representation of what you want. It’s easier to get lost in it and feel like you have already received the abundance that you’re asking the Universe for.
We got a cute decorative cork board and push pins to get us excited about gathering our visions for the future. It’s hung up front and center in the bedroom for us to see all the time. We search Pinterest for ideas and add our wants as we check off things we’ve achieved! Some of them are so silly– like a big tarp to make a slip n slide in the back yard! Have fun with it!
Once you have decided what you truly want your life to be like, you need to believe that it’s already your life.
Close your eyes and feel what it would feel like to walk in to your successful business you’ve been growing. Imagine driving the new car you want. Live your wedding day to the man or woman of your dreams. Picture yourself wearing that hot outfit you’ve been eyeing. Imagine petting and snuggling the puppy you want to adopt.
For example, when I wanted a back patio, I would visualize myself sitting on a cute little wicker bench having a glass of wine with Hunter and the pups. I pictured my trips to AtHome and Home Depot with my mom, picking out patio furniture and potted plants to hang up.
I really let myself soak in these moments. Let myself feel like they’re real and achievable.
If you can’t get yourself lost in your vision, maybe it’s not something that your soul really wants. It’s so important to decide what you really want. The word ‘want’ has a different meaning for everyone. Like I said, my list has changed drastically.
Your mind is insanely powerful. Olympic athletes have used mental training to improve their performance. You can read about it here. It’s fascinating to see how many professions use the power of the brain to ‘get ahead’.
We’re all guilty of daydreaming and coming up with crazy scenarios in our heads. Why not make those moments benefit your life
The Lie Of Humanity
We are taught to believe that there is not enough to go around. There’s a lack of money, housing, good people….. we’re taught that we have to be stingy and fearful of running out. But…. guess what? Not every person wants the same thing as you!
My original order at 16 was a mansion, a bunch of expensive cars, a beach house, 1,000 friends… Legitimately, I didn’t actually want any of those things. I just thought they would make me happy. Do I have any of that stuff? No. But I am truly happy with the man of my dreams in a home I love. Thank goodness the Law of Attraction gave me Hunter instead of a Lambo! Dumb 16 year old me.
As I’ve grown up and searched deep inside of myself and come to understand what I want. My order has changed drastically. Marrying Hunter, building a decent sized home in the future, a new truck for me and Hunter, health and love for our pets and families, continuing to have healthy sources of food and water….. and maybe a new laptop if I’m being really materialistic.
We’re told from a young age that you can’t have your ‘dream life’…. it’s just that: a dream. That’s not true!
Research the Law of Attraction
The Law of Attraction is a big thing, but so few people know about it.
For example, Oprah, Jim Carrey, Will Smith, Jay-Z, Lady Gaga, Conor McGregor…. So many celebrities swear by it.
There are tons of videos of very successful people who live by the Law Of Attraction on YouTube.
All that we are is the result of what we have thought. The mind is everything. What we think, we become.Buddah
It’s not just celebrities! Martin Luther King Jr was a believer in the concepts of the Law Of Attraction. Ancient Egyptians and the Greek even believed in something very, very similar. There are hints to the concept of the law of attraction in the Bible as well as the Hindu religious practices.
Basically, I’m just saying to do a little leg work yourself. There is so much information about the Law of Attraction. It’s not like being more positive, grateful and hopeful can really hurt your life…. can it?
The Take Away
Honestly, even my best writing wont describe the Law of Attraction for beginners like it deserves. I totally suggest watching The Secret movie. I think you can find most of it on YouTube, but I enjoy having the hardcopy so I can watch all of it whenever I want. On days that my anxiety is ramped up or I have a rough day, this is almost an immediate pick me up
Even if you’re reading this and you don’t believe a word I’ve said, you can still benefit from deciding to be more grateful and aware of your thoughts. It’s not like it’s a waste of time to make a list of things you’re thankful for or being hopeful that the future can be brilliant.
Every boss babe should already have a list of goals and plans. However, I feel like this goes a bit further than just having a business plan. This is deciding that you’re not only the boss of your business, but you’re the boss of your own mind.
Your brain is your most powerful business tool therefore you need to make sure that you utilize it for all it’s worth!
